Home of the Rick Shiels Tour Pro Challenge.

The unassuming nine-hole course that keeps testing tour professionals—and has been seen by millions of golfers around the world.

It looks short on the card. Then the challenge begins.

Pastures Golf Club is the home of Rick Shiels’ Tour Pro Challenge: can an elite golfer break par around a 5,000-yard, par-64 public course?

More than 3,000 trees, narrow fairways, long par threes and small greens make Pastures far tougher than the numbers suggest. Rick first brought James Robinson to take it on, then returned with tour professional Ryan Ruffels for a course-record attempt watched by golfers around the world.

Nine holes. Eighteen distinct tees. Plenty to think about.

Set in the grounds of the former Pastures Hospital, the course makes full use of its gently undulating meadowland.

Every fairway is tree-lined and fairly narrow, so accuracy matters more than length. A pond on the third, well-placed bunkers and some of Derbyshire’s most demanding par threes make this an enjoyable challenge for golfers of every level. A practice area and putting area are available for sharpening up before play.
